Go Green Craft Idea: T-shirt Tote!

November 7, 2012

Create adorable totes from old t-shirts!

Looking for a fun green craft idea? Try our t-shirt totes!

Have old t-shirts that no longer fit or worn out? Or how about all those “special events” t-shirts the kids bring home from camp, school, or sports?

Here is a terrific way to recycle those old shirts into adorable totes to use for groceries, goodie bags and more!

Here is what you will need:

old t-shirts

scissors

sewing machine

thread

sewing pins

HOW TO CREATE YOUR GROCERY TOTE:

1. Gather your t-shirts and turn inside out. Lay flat on a table.

2. Trim off the sleeves of the t-shirt and cut a larger neck hole if desired. (This will create the handles)

3. Pin the bottom of the t-shirt and sew together with sewing machine. Remove pins.

4. Finish the edges of the “handles” with the sewing machine if desired.

5. Turn your new bag right side out and enjoy!
