1. Set the mood with candles.  Nothing is more romantic than dinner by candlelight. But, avoid unhealthy chemicals by using soy or beeswax candles instead of traditional paraffin candles.

2. Say it with flowers! Nothing says “Valentine’s Day” more than flowers, but to show love to our environment as well as your sweetie by purchasing in-season flowers from a local grower or purchase a house plant or herbs instead of traditional cut flowers.

3.  Romantic Dinner for two.  Create a delicious meal at home using local foods from your neighborhood farmer’s market. Here are a few  healthy Valentine’s Day Recipes.

4. Sweets for your sweet.  Lavish your loved one with chocolates. Just be sure to purchase organic dark or cacoa chocolate.  These chocolates contain healthy nutrients like flavanol antioxidants that will help keep your loved ones heart healthy for many more Valentine’s Days to come!
